Blake Walker's three children didn't hesitate to let him know they wanted to get out to Comerica CityFest.

"They were getting after me about it," said Walker, 37, of Detroit. "It's something for the whole family to be together."

Walker was among the thousands of festivalgoers Saturday enjoying the food, music and good vibes that throbbed along West Grand Boulevard in Detroit. Today is the last day for CityFest. Events will run from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The rising temperatures and blazing sun had plenty of attendees under the trees in the grassy median. Walker had a cooling system of his own that included a damp rag on his shaved head and some lemonade.

"The lemonade is pretty good," he said while his kids waited for some chicken tenders.

David Stout, 30, of Oak Park said he doesn't get to the city as often as he used to, but he wanted to go to CityFest.
