CITYFEST GALLERY PRESENTS
"Detroit id"
Fisher
Building Second Avenue Entrance |
This outstanding gallery show is a
division of the psyche that is totally unconscious and serves as
the source of instinctual impulses and demands for immediate
satisfaction of primitives needs.
Detroit id is curated by Gwen Joy and features 16 artists
including Carl Oxley III, Johnny Bee Badanjek, Kristin Beaver,
Leni Sinclair, Rico Africa, Robert Sikora, Scott Allen, Sean
Bieri, Matt Gordon and Niagra.
A portion of the proceeds from art purchases will benefit the New Center Council, Inc., producers of the annual
Comerica Cityfest. |

Modern Skate &
Surf Park
Modern Skate & Surf's “Extreme Team” will once again be performing their aerial acrobatics at the 2009 Comerica Cityfest on a specially made street course that features a mini half pipe and many gaps for riders to launch themselves over while demonstrating the fun and excitement of their individual sports.
Featured in many newspaper articles, television and radio talk shows, the Modern Skate & Surf Extreme Team has astounded and entertained spectators, as well as promoted the sports that they love for many years. There will be several special guest appearances by professional skateboard, inline and BMX riders throughout the Comerica Cityfest weekend.
Special THANKS to the Parade Company for their assistance in
producing the Skate Park. |

Hardcore Detroit
While festival-goers are enjoying the
taste and sounds of Comerica Cityfest, at any given moment a
break dancer may lay down the masonite and bust into a head
spin.
Throughout the festival site, members from the city’s
jaw-dropping break-dancing group Hardcore Detroit will give
spontaneous street side performances. |
