Local artists dish about the Comerica TasteFest

What is your favorite part of the Comerica TasteFest?

“I really get a sense of community there and you can't beat a Detroit summer. It's in full swing at the fest.”
John Arnold-Blackman / Arnold World Jazz Quintet

“It is difficult for me to pinpoint one part of the festival that I would consider my favorite since there are so many great aspects to this event. As a recent culinary school grad, and obviously a music fan, I can really appreciate the combination of food and music that takes place at TasteFest.”
Michael Geiger

“To put it simply, good music and good food are my favorite part of the festival. There is a variety of genres and tastes. It's colorful and multi-ethnic, and there is a particular beauty in that. It's nice when a community gathers around two very important things in life: food and music.”
Amir Husak-Hairshirt.

“My favorite part of the fest is to see so many people from all walks of life sharing time together. All kinds of music, food and cultures in one place always makes for a good time.”
Gino Fanelli-Gypsy Strings of Detroit

“Performing outdoors for all our fan is always a great time. My favorite part of the fest is walking around and grooving on the vibes, checking out the great entertainment, and of course the grub.”
Tino Gross-Howling Diablos

“The best part is definitely the people. Not only do you see everyone you know there, but you also see folks you haven't seen in a long time and people you wouldn't normally see at all. It's great people watching — like being in the airport, except everybody's in a good mood.”
Wendy Case-The Paybacks

“I'd have to say the best part of the fest is the free shows! Not too many other festivals present such a rich variety of music for free.”
