TasteFest Drew 500,000+ Participants

Organizers of the annual Comerica TasteFest, a food and music festival featuring cuisine from area restaurants, say this year's event attracted morethan 500,000 people. During the festival, held June 30-July 4 in Detroit's New Center neighborhood, revelers ate a lot of good food and a listened to a line-up of local and national musical acts.
The TasteFest is a fundraiser for the charitable endeavors of event producer New Center Council. Among the neighborhood projects that will benefit from funds raised at this year's
event are the council's youth program and the maintenance of the New Center's outdoor public spaces.
