NCC Focuses On Four Key Action Areas:

Clean & Safe
NCC maintains the public spaces in the New Center through litter removal, an annual flower and landscaping program, holiday lighting, banners, and tree maintenance.  The NCC works very closely with the Detroit Police Department's Central District.  Security staffs of area businesses and institutions to keep New Center one of the safest neighborhoods in Detroit.

Economic Development & Planning
NCC works closely with the City of Detroit and other agencies to plan, promote and implement the highest quality development in New Center.  Economic development initiatives spurred by the 1997 New Center Economic Development Plan have led to $257 million of completed and pending investment in New Center since 1997.

Image-Building
Comerica CityFest (formerly Comerica TasteFest), created by NCC in 1989 to draw attention to the growing vitality of New Center, has become one of the region’s premier attractions.  The five-day festival celebrating food, music and the urban scene attracts 500,000 people annually in the days surrounding the Fourth of July.

Youth Enrichment
Last but not least, the New Center Summer Youth Program – carried out in collaboration with DPS' Fairbanks Elementary School -- provides positive educational, cultural and recreational experiences to 140 disadvantaged children each summer.
